It's great to see campus residents moving in today. Lugging all your worldly possessions from your parents' car into your residence hall or apartment is pretty exhausting. Make sure to stop into a Dining restaurant or a Place & Market to rest, relax and re-fuel.
That's a picture of me to the right. If you see me, feel free to ask me about nutrition and eating well on campus.
Dining Services is looking forward to an exciting year full of great meals, delicious recipes, and a brand new restaurant on Muir College called Pines.
Check out these photos of Pines' serving area and dining area.
And check back to this blog throughout the school year for photos and posts of healthy meals that you can eat in Dining Services. Also feel free to leave a comment.
If you have the opportunity to visit the Housing, Dining & Hospitality Administration building on Revelle College, check out the quotes in the staircases. Each quote was submitted by an HDH employee. Here is one of my personal favorite quotes,
"There is a time and a place for everything, and it's called college." -BILL COSBY
I hope that you all had a fantastic academic year. Enjoy your summer!
Aim for healthy beverages such as water, soymilk, fat free milk and even lowfat chocolate milk to keep you hydrated and nourished during your study sessions.
Avoid increasing your intake of caffeine this week. Try to keep it consistent so that you avoid headaches and sleep disturbances.
Goody's Place & Market on Thurgood Marshall College will be open regular hours through Finals week so that you can get your burritos, sandwiches, study snacks, and more!
Here is my favorite, healthy combo at Goody's (pictured at right). Burrito Bowl with: 1. cilantro rice 2. pinto beans 3. fajita veggies 4. shredded cheese 5. lettuce 6. guacamole 7. pico de gallo 8. fire-roasted salsa
This summer: Goody's Place will be open 10a-3p Goody's Market (downstairs) will be open 3p-9p
