LiveWell with Fish on Friday - that's today!

LiveWell meals are RD-approved, healthy meals available everyday in Dining Services' five main restaurants. Here are today's choices for fish on Friday.

  • Snapper Tapenade at Pines

  • Tusan Tuna Melt Open Face Sandwich at OVT

  • Mediterranean Mahi Mahi at Cafe Ventanas

  • Lemon Peppered Salmon at Canyon Vista and Plaza Cafe

Fish contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart. Most of us don't consume enough omega-3s but these LiveWell options are available to help you work towards that goal.

Check out the NEW Bistro at the Strand!

Dining Services is proud to announce the opening of its newest restaurant, the Bistro at the Strand! It is located across the street from the Village residences.

The Bistro is a fine dining, full-service restaurant with hosts, servers and gourmet food - you get all that for student-budget-friendly prices!

Check out the delicious Angus beef sliders that I had there yesterday. (pictured at right) I chose this entree because I like the smaller portion size of a slider. Good nutrition is a balance of food choices and portion sizes.

For spring quarter, the Bistro is open from 11am-3pm Monday-Thursday.

You can use your Dining Dollars, Triton Cash, cash or credit.

Like soy milk?

Pines restaurant on Muir College has soy milk in the "moo cow" dispensers. The soy milk cost $1.59 for a 16-ounce glass (the regular reusable glasses in Dining Services.) Why do people choose soy milk?

  • it's lactose free

  • it's vegan

  • some people prefer the taste
Let me know what you think - do you want Dining Services to carry soy milk from the moo cow dispensers? Let me know by posting a comment to this blog post or email me at rmcdivitt@ucsd.edu You can also text Pines restaurant using the the Text N Tell program (info posted on the tables in Dining restaurants.)
